The results are in!
Thank you to the 32 forces and organisations that took the time to vote – it was very close with all nominees for Chair and Vice Chair receiving a good number of votes.
After all the ballots have been counted, the results are as follows:
Chair – Kate Quilley (Warwickshire and West Mercia) was the overall successful candidate, and has asked current co-Chair Ruth Shulver to continue in the co-chair role working with her to bring valuable legacy knowledge to the table.
Vice Chair – Clare Mills, Wiltshire.
Congratulations to the successful candidates who will join the existing executive committee from 1 January 2019.
Incoming Co-chair Kate said: “I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone for your votes and support in selecting me as chair of APComm.
It was extremely positive (and some what nerve-racking) to be up for nomination alongside such a high calibre of professional communication colleagues, both for the Chair and Vice Chair roles. It was also great to see such positive interest and support in the roles up for election this year. It once again demonstrates the wealth of collective knowledge and experience we can not only harness but that we are fortunate enough to have within the APComm.”
“I am thrilled and excited at taking on this new role and it is a real privilege to have this incredible opportunity to work with you in the coming months.
“I wish you all a very happy, peaceful Christmas and look forward to getting going in the new year to continue the great work of APComm in 2019.”
